There is nothing more exciting but equally as daunting than starting something new. Magic has a very linear structure, everything is planned and has to be executed in a specific way in order to achieve the desired outcome. Comedians can divert their efforts and go down any path afforded to them. If someone shouts something out for example, they have lines and jokes specifically designed for hecklers. Equally, that heckler could change the
course of the subject matter and the show can end up being completely different. Equally, in theatre, a company or cast have each other to rely upon. If one struggles with their lines or perhaps has a funny turn on stage, an experienced actor knows key improvisational skills which would allow them to help fellow actors in times of crisis. As a magician, we have to learn all of this and so much more!
This course is a way to get you prepared for any eventuality you may find when you enter the arena. Every trick you practice and hone cannot prepare yourself for what may happen in the real world. On this course I would love to share with you some of my experiences from the 12 years I have been a performer. My experience in professional theatre and magic will hopefully help you on your journey.
With this course we will discuss everything. From what tricks to use in performance situations. Ways to get out of trouble if something goes wrong. How to structure and routine your sets. Openers, closers. How to deal with that difficult customer who may perhaps not enjoy magic, or perhaps a heckler who wants to be the centre of attention. How to approach tables and different techniques to get into any. Group of people whether it be corporate big wigs or a family of four at your local residency.
Of course, with the incredible Alakazam Academy, you can ask any questions you have and if there is something that is worrying or bothering you, then we can cover that in depth!
