Thinking The Impossible by Ramon Rioboo

Thinking The Impossible - Ramon Rioboo - Vanishing Inc. Magic shop

Ramón Riobóo holds a doctorate in deception. He is the 1992 recipient of the Ascanio Award and winner of the 1993 First Prize in Card Magic from the XIX National Magic Congress in Barcelona. He will yank the mental carpet from under you without your seeing him reach for it. It is only as your sense of reality falls away that you begin to understand you have been the target of a cunning structure designed to baffle the most analytical mind.

Multiple outs is one of the oldest, classic, and powerful tools in mentalism. Several classic effects and routines in the history of mentalism and magic are built around multiple outs. Some of the standard tools like a pocket index were born out of this very concept of multiple outs.

In this manuscript, we will explore the ‘DOUBT’ method for constructing multiple outs. This is a technique or strategy which makes multiple outs much easier and more effective for many situations. This technique uses double blank business cards and uses the core nature of these double blank cards very potently. The number of outs to be carried also gets reduced by half, at least.

Soo’s infamous and suspicious onstage death in 1918 mystified his fellow magicians: he was shot during a performance of “Defying the Bullets,” in which he attempted to catch marked bullets on a porcelain plate.
