Stewart James is one of the most prolific creators in all of magic history. He created over 2,000 magic tricks in his lifetime–many of which have become “classics.” All of Stewart’s best creations have been published in “Stewart James in Print: The First Fifty Years” and “The James Files.” The books total over 2500 pages across three volumes. No matter if you’ve been in magic for decades or just a few months, odds are, you’ve encountered one of Stewart James’s creation’s.
This project is dedicated to taking Stewart’s material off the page and putting it into action.
Episode #1 uncovers the Spell of Mystery (originally published in 1929) and its variations.
Spell of Mystery – A deck is shuffled. The spectator cuts the deck wherever they want, and the top two cards are used to create a target card. The target card is spelled with cards from the deck, and low and behold, the card is found.
Twice Versa – After performing Spell of Mystery, you can immediately repeat the effect…in reverse.
Big Tutudo – This introduces a plethora of choices into Spell of Mystery to add an additional layer of impossibility.
BONUS:
Love’s Labor Lost – This uses the Spell of Mystery concept, but eliminates the spelling giving you a self-working, easy to master card location.
